Little House in the Mountains

The New Little House started in 2012 as “The New Little House on the Prairie” after we purchased a house in Kansas. After moving to Colorado I tried to keep up but without a house of our own it seemed a bit fraudulent.

We now have our own house here in the mountains. In fact we have had this home for nearly 3 years. So maybe the lack of house wasn’t the only factor in letting the blog life go.

Out little house in the mountains isn’t nearly as cute as our house on the prairie. In fact is has zero curb appeal. I tried all the artistic angles but truly could not get a photo that didn’t just look like a long brown house on a weed covered lot.

This house could use some landscaping and maybe some fresh windows. And if we could swap the roof color with the house color that would great. But here in the mountains its not so much about how your house looks from the street, but rather what your house looks out on to.

Just over the fence nearly 360 degrees around we have views of snow covered mountains. We get blazing sunrises (or so I’m told, I’m rarely awake that early), and alpine glow sunsets. And between sunrise and Sunset we get the Colorado bluebird skies and clear views for miles during the day.

After a long day at work, or hours of snow removal, we can’t help but be thankful for our little house in the mountains.
